A site about how community groups and charities can make the most of data and open data to do something useful. Focused on Birmingham, relevant everywhere.

FAILcamp: Celebrating the social media failures of Brum

FAILcamp is a new idea by Pete Ashton and Benjamin Whitehouse that focuses on the failures of social media in Birmingham. The site is still pretty new so there is not much detail, but the two paragraph on the about page pretty much sums up the idea.

Ben says that not every project does well first time around:
“There must have been ideas rejected, things trialed, stuff that cocked up and I’m interested in those things.”

Pete says pretty much the same thing:
“One of the major tenets of social media is that failure is good. When the cost of doing stuff drops to zero you can afford to fail so failure becomes part of the process.”

It should be interesting to see/hear about what this will end up with. Definitely an interesting angle though.
